Every morning, my family and I enjoy our coffee with biscotti. We usually buy them, but why not try to make them at home? This recipe is very easy, and I promise everyone will love them!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 tablespoons of softened butter

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon of butter rum syrup

  • 2 cups of all purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup of dark cocoa powder (any cocoa powder will do fine)

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

DIRECTIONS:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Cream the softened butter and sugar

  • Add in the eggs one at a time, until well incorporated

  • Add in the vanilla and butter rum

  • Mix in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda

  • Add in additional flour, the dough should be a little sticky

  • Shape the dough like a bread loaf, and lightly flatten the top with your hands

  • Place it on a baking sheet and into the oven it goes!

  • Bake for 30 minutes

  • After baking, take it out and let it cool for until it isn't so hot

  • When slightly cooled, cut it into the shape of a biscotti. You can make them as big as you wish, just make sure they fit into your coffee mug!

  • Place the slices back onto the baking sheet, and place them facing up. Bake each side for an additional 8-10 minutes to get the perfect crunch factor.

  • After both sides have finished baking, let them cool on a rack

  • After cooling, you may dip them in chocolate

  • Enjoy!
