Vanilla Scones

Scones are great for a breakfast dessert with coffee. They are super easy to make and they taste absolutely amazing! Let's get to making some vanilla scones!
INGREDIENTS FOR DOUGH
- 2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
-1 pinch of salt
-1 tablespoon of baking powder
-1/3 cup of granulated sugar
-1 egg, room temperature
-1/2 cup of milk
-1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
-3/4 cup of cold butter, cubed
ICING:
-1/3 cup of cream cheese
-1 cup of powdered sugar
-1 Tablespoon of vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS:
- Take a pan and add parchment paper or a baking sheet and pre-heat oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit
- In a stand mixer, add flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar and mix together
-Add in your cold butter and mix it lightly until there a small little crumbs and it begins to have a texture of fluffy sand
- In a bowl, mix together your egg, milk and vanilla extract and add that to your dry ingredients and mix until combined
- On a floured surface, kneed your dough until smooth
- Make a ball and slightly roll it our with a rolling pin, make sure it's about an inch thick
-Take a sharp knife and cut into 6 squares (or 4 if you want big scones)
-Put the slices on the pan and bake for 12 minutes
- Make your glaze and cool the scones for a few minutes and add the glaze on top
-Enjoy with coffee or tea!
