My entire family loves chicken pot pie. It is absolutely an amazing feel good winter treat. It warms you up and definitely fills you up! We made this round with turkey instead. It tastes absolutely divine!

INGREDIENTS:

8 cups of roasted turkey (or cooked chicken)

4 stalks of celery

2 cups of chopped carrots

1 can of green beans

1 can of corn

2 medium yellow onions

3 tablespoons of flour

Half a gallon of chicken broth

1/2 cup of heavy cream

Salt to taste

Pepper to taste

2 teaspoons of rosemary

1/3 cup of fresh parsley

3 leaves of chopped sage

Puff pastry or pie dough

DIRECTIONS:

  • Chop and cook all the vegetables first until cooked

  • Add in your turkey or chicken

  • Add in green beans and corn

  • Add in the flour, let that cook while mixing continually for about 10 minutes

  • Add in the chicken broth and heavy cream

  • Add in the spices

  • Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes and story every few minutes to ensure that it doesn't burn on the bottom

My mother and I used oven proof bowls so that we all have individual pies. You may use whatever you wish

  • After you finished cooking, add in your filling to whatever oven proof bowl or pan you have!

  • Place puff pastry or pie dough to fit your bowls and add egg wash on top to get a nice golden flaky brown crust

  • Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 minutes or until the puff pastry is baked through

  • Enjoy!!
